August has been simply amazing at ACS CAG!

We were fortunate to have Ms. Melanie Lester, owner and operator of South Tifton Learning Center, join us to lead a STEM Robots activity with our individuals. Each participant was paired in groups of two, along with a staff member, to assist in the building process. Everyone listened closely as Ms. Lester explained the steps for each robot, with support from her assistant, Ms. Sabrina Tucker. Together, they guided the groups in starting and troubleshooting their robots.

We are grateful that our individuals get to experience team-building and critical-thinking activities like this. At ACS, we want our individuals to know they can achieve anything they put their minds to. A huge shoutout goes to Denzell Palmore and Kim Terry (one of our newest staff members) for completing their rocket station first.

To finish out the week, our individuals enjoyed a fun trip to Strike Zone 10 for bowling. Paired into teams with staff support, everyone had the chance to roll some strikes and cheer each other on. Lunch was a delicious stop at Dairy Queen, with hamburgers, chicken tenders, fries, ice cream, and drinks. After lunch, it was back to bowling where the excitement continued.

Congratulations to our bowling champions: Mark Poitevint, Preston Lehman, Denzell Palmore, Tetrina Young, and Lonisha Wilcox (another of our newest staff members).

We’re not done yet—August still has more in store. Stay tuned for even more exciting updates as we continue working to be the best day program in South Georgia.

As always, we are grateful for our wonderful ACS CAG staff who dedicate themselves to getting our individuals out into the community and back safely. Your hard work does not go unnoticed.

Please enjoy the show!
